Our approach
Nicon Built has been delivering custom homes in Melbourne's inner south since 1990. Before founding the business, our founder worked on some of Melbourne's biggest construction projects. The Bolte Bridge, the Burnley Tunnel, the State Library, the Melbourne Museum. That kind of work is unforgiving. You learn how to manage a complex build properly or things fall apart. Nicon Built brought that discipline into residential construction and it's been applied to every home since.
The big difference between a Nicon Built home and a volume builder is simple. The team that prices the job runs the build. All the trades, all the inspections, the scheduling, every conversation with you. No site managers appearing halfway through who don't know what was agreed.

Do you offer design and build?
Yes. If you're at the early stages and want the design and build managed together, we can do that. If you've already got an architect and completed drawings, we work from those directly.
What types of builds have you done?
Custom architect-designed family homes, double-storey duplexes, and multi-dwelling residential builds across Melbourne's inner south since 1990. One standout was the double-storey duplex at 116a The Avenue, Spotswood, which was cited by hockingstuart Yarraville as the best new build they'd sold in the area.
How do you keep jobs on time and on budget?
Nicon Built manages the trade schedule, material procurement, inspection sequence, and client communication directly. There's no management layer between the decisions being made on site and the team accountable for the outcome. That removes a big source of delays and cost blowouts.
What's the difference between you and a volume builder?
A volume builder sells pre-designed templates with standard materials and limited say for the client. We build to a specific brief: your architect's design, your material choices, your site. And Nicon Built runs every build from the first meeting to handover.
